The roman ruins

by coarspire - last update: Dec 25, 2005

Evora is a pretty nice city, protected by Unesco and defined as a World Heritage. Allow 4 hours at least to visit this city.

Templo romano (The roman temple)

Built in the acropolis, a relic of architecture in the Corinthian style, a unique example in Portugal (2nd-3rd century AD)

Capela dos ossos (The bones chapel)

It is inside "Igreja de S. Francesco" and it has been made with the bones of 5000 monks. They gathered the bones buried in 42 monastic cemeteries to make this.
