"The Best Place in the World" Caye Caulker by Trixxi
Caye Caulker Travel Guide: 474 reviews and 940 photos
This is the most amazing place in the world. I truly believe I was in paradise. The sand was white, the water was blue and the people were just great. We spent a day just walking around the island taking pictures. We created our own "wildlife" walk. Just taking the time to enjoy the simple things on this island is the best way to be here. I think this is the only place in the world where there is no time, there are no schedules, and there is no where to be.
What a great place to be. There are decorations, Christmas trees and even a Santa or two. Even in Caye Caulker, one can find a Christmas Eve football game. There was no snow for me to see, but with white sand all over, who needed snow. There is a special feel to this place around the holidays. Everyone makes you feel like family and wishes you "Merry Christmas". I wish I could be here every year, but it would be too weird to celebrate every Christmas by the sea.
What more is there to say really. You are surrounded by the most beautiful water in the world and would be crazy to not enjoy it. You can spend days just swimming around. We snorkeled, went to Shark and Ray Alley and kayaked for a day. Shark and Ray Alley is a must! The only time in my life I will be able to say the I swam with sharks... no one needs to know that they are nurse sharks. Such a great experience! The snorkeling was good too. The reefs are still in OK shape, but too many people are ruining them so be careful. Take in as much of it as you can.
- Pros:Peaceful, good people, great surroundings
- Cons:Could there really be any?
- In a nutshell:Paradise
