"The Hub of Chiapas" Tuxtla Gutiérrez by DSwede

Tuxtla Gutiérrez Travel Guide: 15 reviews and 30 photos

Tuxtla is the largest city of Chiapas, but it really is not a large tourist destination. The city is expansive, but nested with mountains all around. I've driven through it and stopped here several times, usually to stretch my legs, fuel up and get something to eat.

The city is comfortable enough, but is mostly a typical working town with commercial businesses. The Cañón del Sumidero and the Zoo are the two largest draws.

Feel free to visit my Mexico page for more on my time and visits to other places within Mexico.

  • Cons:Little to do for the typical tourist
  • In a nutshell:The city is comfortable enough, but is mostly a typical working town with commercial businesses.
