I had passed through Boulder a few times over the years and seen it grow and change a bit. I've got some good college friends in the area, but unfortunately have not had proper opportunities to drop in on them as I'd like.

Boulder is to the north of Denver. It has been protected by local provisions from developments and expansions. Therefore the cost of living in Boulder is terribly inflated.

The average population in Boulder is well educated and professional, but at the same time live there in order to be close to the mountains and the vast playground that the Rockies provide.

Pearl Street, in the downtown area, has been revitalized. It is now an outdoor mall and pedestrian zone. Shops, restaurants, bars, etc... this is were most people go to hang out.

From here, you are not too far from Golden (& the Coors brewery), Nederland, Blackhawk (gambler's getaway), Denver, etc.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Its a very eco-friendly place with sportive people.
  • Cons:Cost of living in Boulder is terribly inflated
  • In a nutshell:A good, but trendy, base camp for summer and winter activities.
