Crab Cake Benedict - Kings Beach

Crab Cake Benedict

The Old Post Office Cafe: Great breakfasts

The Old Post Office is a good hole-in-the-wall local's place for breakfast. The inside is typical road side diner, mixed up with a bit of mountain town lodge.

The menu is pretty big and it may take you a while to make a decision. But regardless of which you choose, you will not leave hungry since the portions are big and the quality is good.

Open daily 6:30am–2pm

Favorite Dish: The standard breakfasts like the omelets and eggs are good. The pancakes are large and thick. The eggs Benedict are great, but I'd recommend you take a look at the specials listed on the table and opt for the Crab Cake Benedict if its on the board for the day.

Jason's: Good local foods, steaks and fish

Jason's is a long standing landmark on the North Shore. It has a good outdoor patio for summer time, but inside is decorated like an old log cabin. In the summer, its popular to have some appetizers and drinks on the patio, otherwise all year the lunches and dinners are good too.

Favorite Dish: The salad bar is always fresh and can be a stand-alone meal or added to your entree for a couple dollars. The salmon is always good, as are the burgers and sandwiches.

Lanza's: Italian cuisine on the North Shore & good bar too!

Hands down the best Italian food on the North Shore. The menu has remained relatively unchanged in the last ~15 years, probably because they realized you should not mess with a good thing. The restaurant has booths and tables set in a relatively small, intamate setting.

There is also a well stocked bar on the right side, which is a good hang out for locals during any season.

Favorite Dish: All dishes are great, but the Eggplant Parmagiana is noteably their most popular. The Marinated Chicken (in red wine and rosemary is a favorite of mine).

The wine list is also quite long. Due to popularity, the wine stocks are turned over frequently, so the wines are fresh and quality monitored.
Dishes are quite large, so you'll likely have left overs for lunch the next day.
