During my second visit to Egypt, I came to Hurghada over land, driving from Luxor.

I did not stay much time in the city, since my reason for coming here was to board a boat. I lived on a liveaboard for 8 days, diving the Red Sea. The diving was fabulous. There were many wrecks, many of which are easily accessible from Hurghada.

Living on the boat gave us the opportunity to go into the deeper waters to swim with the pelagic (manta rays, thresher sharks, oceanic white tips, etc). We also visited ”The Brothers” Islands.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Fantastic diving to be had
Cons:A good fair distance away from anywhere else, either requiring a long bus or flight.
In a nutshell:If you have the time and money, a diving holiday here would be recommended.

Got it - Hurghada is for Deep Blue lovers, or was it Le Grand Blue!? I've only seen the Luc Besson one - Cheers, Marina
