"Pilgrimage point for the Virgin of Caacupe" Caacupé by DSwede

Caacupé Travel Guide: 2 reviews and 4 photos

Caacupe has for a long time (since 1600), been a place of reverence to the Virgin of Caacupe. Even today, on special events, thousands of people flock here to have her grant their wishes and listen to their prayers. I personally thing I was rather fortunate not to have visited on those busy days, but rather instead walked the small town in peace and quiet.

There is not much to the town other than some basic street vendors, a couple humble restaurants and shops.

Feel free to visit my Paraguay page for more comments on my experiences here.
