"In the central plains" Quang Ngai by DSwede

Quang Ngai Travel Guide: 8 reviews and 13 photos

Quang Ngai itself is a rather sleepy town. It is the nearest town to the infamous My Lai massacre (March 17, 1968). The Vietnamese name may be found as "Son My", the site of the My Lai massacre.

The city itself can be crossed in a matter of minutes and does not have much to offer the average tourist other than a beach, a few restaurants, and the My Lai museum.

For my general thoughts on the country, feel free to visit my Vietnam page.

(for more pictures, feel free to visit my Vietnam Gallery. If you enjoy the pictures, please leave a comment.)

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:The massacre site (tlthough biased) is humbling
  • Cons:Aside from the My Lai site, not much more to do
  • In a nutshell:A very sleepy place that most people pass unnoticed, if you have ample time take a day here, otherwise continue on.
