Gomantong Caves Travel Guide: 9 reviews and 16 photos

Keeping with centuries old traditions, the locals still harvest the edible birds nests. I came here on my way between Sandakan and Lahad Datu.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:It is a sometimes misunderstoon, nondetrimental custom.
  • Cons:The smell of centuries worth of bird sh!t in the cave is powerful.
  • In a nutshell:Only requiring a short time, it is a rare opportunity to see such a unique event.
