Small Town - Great Skiing I've only been to Idaho once, and it was to visit Sun Valley this past January. You can only get into the town through small planes, but I hear they will be expanding the airport soon. The area is very rural, but Sun Valley has an interesting mix of the extrememly wealthy and local ski bums. Celebrity sitings are the norm according to most locals.
The slops are pretty spendy at $70 for a day pass. Unfortunately during my trip the temps were around 0 degrees so we didn't last too long on the mountain. The best part about the city is the downtown strip where all the bars, clubs, restaurants are lined up close together. There is a bus that didn't seem to run on any specific schedule and would take us anywhere we wanted after the bars. |
