"Laganas" Laganas by Vieri4

I've been to Laganas on two ocassions, once with a girlfriend and the other as a lads holiday and its more suited to a lads holiday than anything else.

You have to see Laganas as how it will benefit yourself. If you want a quite holiday in the sun with family then it's best avoided.

However it's not to say that you can't go there and enjoy other activities, and hotels that are further away from the main strip are better suited for families.

If you want a holiday in the sun with plenty of nightlife then this is an ideal location.

Laganas can be used as a good base to travel further a-field. Kefalonia is only a few miles away and a boat journey from Zakynthos town is easily do-able. A two day trip to Athens is affordable for around ?70 with accomodation and it's best to avoid the travel reps who will charge you far more.

Along the main-strip and beach front are plenty of tour operators offering you the chance to go on the "Smuggler Cove" trip and I can only but highly recommend it.

You sail around the coast stopping off for occasional swims and then arrive at the smugglers cove which has pure light blue water and the smugglers ship on the beach shipwrecked from many years ago surrounded by the high rise chalk like cliffs.

There are soo many good restaurants in Laganas and the Greek tavernas are the best serving great traditional food. Lamb Kleftiko is particualrly good and anywhere that serves Greek potatoes!
