My trip to Ladakh was a physical AND a spiritual experience. There I met some wonderful people, locals and french tourists like me. Many of them changed my life, my point of view. I became buddhist because of these moutains, monasteries and above all because of the smile of this ladakhi people. How is it possible ? How can you be so happy, so smiling while living in a such rude place. These smiles had enlighted my life and still I remember them in my cloudy Paris. |
| | The Moutains For my first trip far away from Europe, I choose Himalaya, with a great proud of myself, not very sure to be able to trek in such hight altitude. But my fears were sweep away when I saw the moutains of Ladakh. Rose and Green : I cannot imagine a mix like this. Wander in the crest of the moutain, see the wild wild horizon and feel so humble in front of this perfect show of the Nature. I felt in love with these moutains. |
| | The Monasteries Apres l'effort, le reconfort ; after hard climbing, monasteries in the top of the moutains or in a pass (the La in ladakhi). And there, always calm, peace of mind, smiles, colours, happiness. The life I want to live, one day, is in a monastery. In each valley of Ladakh, you can find a monastery, often very old and save from destruction (not like in Tibet). Inside, you can hear the Pudja, the sounds, and smell incense. |
