So much to offer

Arches really impressed me the second time around. Unbelievably, I've been here twice now and still have not hiked to Delicate Arch, I gotta go back! The first time we were there for one day and visited all the roadside attractions, the Delicate Arch viewpoint, and back to Landscape Arch.

This year we did it a little differently by hiking the more remote Tower Arch and Eye of the Whale.

We also took the ranger guided Fiery Furnace hike and it was great. A slight rant: We had 27 people plus two rangers in our group. The lead ranger was a botanist and gave several talks along the way, this is OK but the hike took almost 4 hours instead of the three it should have.

Eye of the Whale

We got to Moab mid day and went and checked in to our motel. It was early so I decided to go out to Eye of the Whale Arch. This is out on a 4wd road that is sandy and rocky. Once you reach the trailhead it's a short hike into the arch. It is meant to be viewed from the backside so just follow a wash around the rock to the left.
