My trip to Cancun

by Fullmoonfever - last update: Feb 18, 2007

Cancun 1

Hi,

Me and wife went to Cancun in 2002. We had a great time and would love to go back soon. I would like to tell you what we did and maybe give some useful tips and things we learned from our trip.

First of all, and I don't know if this is true for all trips, I first priced it online ....hotel to stay at....flight....tranfers..etc.

After doing this I went to a travel agency and to my surprise, the cost of the trip was not anymore expensive. So in this case, why go thru the hassle of booking and arranging everything when I could have a travel agent take care of all the details.

Here's a picture of the big pyramid at Chichen Itza.

We had a great time and one of the reasons we went there was to see Chichen Itza and Tulum. Our trips were included in our resort cost. We stayed at the Moon Palace. It was everything we had hoped for. Great service, food and people!!

Most of the people, believe it or not, did not take any trips. I highly reccommend doing so if you go to Cancun. The ruins are truely amazing and are in surprisely great condition. The coast at Tulum is absolutely beautiful.

I am not going to add a lot of info about Chichen Itza other than my tips. There are many web sites with a great deal of info for those that are interested in seeing this awesome sight and they would do the history of Chichen Itza and the Mayan Culture more justice than I can.
The first thing you see when entering Chichen Itza
I took some great photos from the top of the big pyramid. Can't do that anymore since I've been told people are no longer allowed to climb to the top.

Pros:"Very interesting lacation, if you make it that way!"

I have also climbed the main pyramid in Chichen Itza (but it was a long time ago) and I have also climbed the stairs inside the pyramide. It is a great place!
