Welcom to Kurume

by gogonicetrip - last update: Apr 21, 2007

Kurume is located south of Dazaifu and is a central city of culture and economy in Chikugo Plain along Chikugo River which is the largest river in Kyushu region.

The Edo period prospers as the castle town of Arima lord, therefore historical buildings, such as the Kurume castle ruin, and many shrines and temples show the old image.

Kurume has produced a large number of painters and artists, and their works are exhibited at Ishibashi Museum of Art that is must visit spot.
