I needed to take a sabbatical and decided to spend 5 weeks without family in Nicaragua.
7 days in Granada taking spanish classes, living in Nicaraguan family.
By microbus to UCA Managua, taxi to Mercado Central, and bus to Estelí.
Three nights in Estelí in Hotel Nicarao. Day trip to Miraflores Nature reserve.
Bus to Achuapa and El Lagartillo. Living in a campesino family and taking spanish classes for 5 days. Hijos del Maís Escuela de Español Campesina.
Bus to El Sauce and León. Three days in León Hotel Casona Colonial.
Bus to Las Peñitas. Hotel Barca de Oro for four nights.
Bus to Léon and Matagalpa. Bus to Selva Negra. Hotel one night.
Bus to Masaya and Granada. Another 4 nights in Granada with day trips to Laguna de Apoyo, Volcán Masaya, Volcán Mombacho, las Isletas.
Bus to Rivas, colectivo to San Jorge and ferry to Isla Ometepe. Three nights Hotel Finca Playa Venecia at Charco Verde.
Ferry and colectivo to Rivas, other colectivo to San Juan del Sur.
Three nights in San Juan del Sur.
Transnica bus to San José. Three nights in Alajuela. Day trip to Volcán Poás. One day in San José.
Flight to Ecuador. 4 weeks with husband and children in Ecuador and Galápagos, then flight together to San José. One week with family in Costa Rica and another week with them in Nicaragua.
