I have been sustaining my godchild in Quilotoa for one year and I wanted to visit her once I am in Ecuador. From Quito I went by bus to Latacunga and from there to Zumbahua. Once or twice a day there are buses that go continue to Quilotoa. The first evening I stayed with the family of the local coordinator of the social project which is sustained by viventura a travel organisation.
Sleeping at 4000 m was quite a cold experience. Next morning two local kids helped me to find the house of my godchilds family. After one hour over mule paths and with strong winds we reached a small farm on top of a hill. This is the way the eight children have to go every day early in the morning to go to school. There is no electricity and the water they have to get several times a day by horse or mule down the hill.
