with few experiences of travelling ,ancona as a trip was presented to me as a two week break from london
we travelled into ancona by train from a main airport sucking in the shore line and being pointed out Rimini as we traveled south along the adriatic sea
we arrived into ancona via the main central ancona train station and was picked up with no fuss or traffic by our host
it was my first time in italy ,and it looked exactly how one wood imagine it
quazzi james bond with the monte carlo buildings and shop fronts martini neon lights it was all real quite magical
it also felt very reasuring i never felt any sense of danger it was like being in bornmouth very tranquil and so charming
after seeing other citys on the train with rich terocotta ancona was a bit more classial and darker stoned

it was getting dark and we ate and got up for our 1st day
i couldnt wait to get to the beach
i think i swam 1 and a half miles every day (bar two days)

there was the main beach (with a lift )on a mian prominade
it was the local beach front it was very peaceful uncrowed
the weather was unbelivable in august it took 30 mins to dry ones
shirt in the sun from saoking wet
swimming in the med for us in england is a bit like a lake when you compare it to the cold water of the north sea english channel

i dont think i will ever forgot swimimg in the shallows up to out croped rocks of ancona the water so clear u could see the craggy rocks on the sea bed the greeny blue sea the plants in the sea fish swimimg

it wasnt all just swimimg
we hit a few clubs and night spots arround the town at night
but theres one thing you cant explain to local ancona people
if you like me come from say london
and that is the night sky in ancona
it was abosulty astonuding
the clartiy of the stars at night ,star dust ,clouds of stars
and the baots sailing off to greece, on the night sky twinkling over the
horizon, mooonlight too
i kissed her then .............a kiss i will never forget
the night life was modern inteligent and fashionble
there was no inpulsive trend towards degeratation in 1994
drum and bass wasnt quite invented in europe then
but i guess its a jazzy snazzy place now
it also had this kind of american zing in the metal of the town
it had the late 50s american grafitti feel to it
in the youth culture as the commuted about on vespas
and micro fiat cars
i felt like gene kely in an american in paris
because ancona looks like a holylwod set from the movie ..... those quitesentail monte carlo, james bond, real martni neon lights ......... real and quite unshacken not stirred {not one word on football} ancona fc LOL.
