The city is situated on a peninsula at the South western tip of Africa where the Indian and Atlantic oceans converge. The symbol of the magestic Table Mountain /\/*****\/\.., which dominates the cityskyline most everywhere you go, is well known - even internationally. Table Mountain offers some of the best climbing in the world.

Cape Town is home and prone to: Table Mountain, V&A Waterfront, Cavendish, Canal Walk , Robben Island, Nelson Mandela, Wine Routes, some of the world?s best wines, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, the Atlantic Seaboard, Blaauwberg Coast, Cape Flats, the famous False Bay Coast, Cape Dutch homesteads, traditional dancers with painted faces performing in the streets, spicy Malay cooking, fantastic surfing, great diving areas, mountain biking, sea kayaking, whales, penguins, seals, sharks, Lion?s Head, tandem paragliders, stunning beaches, live music, art exhibitions, museums, plays, opera, ballet , symphony concerts, parliament buildings, Ratanga Junction and much more.

Beware of criminal activities and keep your wits about you. Although it is a VERY beautiful country, South Africa is not always a safe place.

Where you'll find places like Blouberg Beach, Koeberg, Melkbos Strand, Yzerfontein, Club Mykonos and Langebaan. Langebaan boasts a wonderful Nature Reserve with great panoramic views. If in remote areas travel extra carefully.

With it's daily canon shot at midday (12 o'clock) and panoramic views of the city centre, the V&A Waterfront and Sea Point.

You can drive your car up to the top of Lion's Head and have a picnic or stroll around to enjoy the views.

Beware of robberies as many tourist have been robbed in the past.

Has a table shape, is +/-1000m high and features: rock rabbits, small deer, wonderful trails, great scenery, an expensive restaurant , curio shop and much more.

You can take a bus from the city centre all the way up to the cable car. The cable car system was upgraded some years back. There are some shops at the bottom station. From there you take the car up to the top of the mountain. There are trails surrounding the mountain and even novice and unfit climbers can manage the stair-type trails. It usually takes about 2 hours to climb (if unfit). Take plenty of water as it can get warm - even in winter.

Cape Town is famous for it's warm, white stretches of sandy beaches like: Noordhoek, Campsbay, Clifton, Fishhoek, Muizenberg, Houtbay, Strand, Gordons Bay, etc. to name but a few.

Most are safe enough, but beware of theft and do not visit Sandy Bay (the famous nudist beach) on your own or at night.
