Phuket Island in southern Thailand is a paradise for sun lovers and ideal for a short break or a relaxing vacation. Phuket is the largest island in Thailand, about the same size as Singapore. The island�s magnificent beaches are legendary. Mai Khao Beach (34km from Phuket Town) is the longest beach and Nai Yang Beach (30km from town) forms part of a National Park. Surin Beach and Kamala Beach (24km from town) are probably not suitable for swimming, but they have a public golf course there. Patong Beach (20km from town) is Phuket's most developed beach and Karon (20km from town) and Kata (17km from town) are the next major beaches.
