History

The Roman ruins of baalbeck are probably the major tourist attraction in lebanon .
it contains :
1- Temple of Jupiter
2- Temple of Bacchus
3- Temple of Venus

The Baalbeck ruins have a new museum which opened to the public in November 1998. the museum is located underneath the temple of jupiter's courtyard....
On display are Roman statues , articrafts, maps, drawings, and photographs , with explanation in English , Arabic, Germany and French

A second Musuem has also opened next to the temple of Bacchus and includes an exhibition,'Cities of death' , which describes Roman burial traditions

it is still a mystery how the gigantic stones of Baalbeck were transported from the quarry to the temple site and then lifted into position ....???
