San Francisco de Campeche is the capital city of the Mexican state of Campeche on the shore of the Bay of Campeche of the Gulf of Mexico.
I spent a wonderful night in the Best Western Del Mar Hotel on the way from Palenque to Uxmal Mayan ruins.
There was a wonderful excursion along the city the next day.

The promenade along the sea looks lovely, and so does some of the old buildings too!

5km walk along the ocean sounds great! very interesting architecture on the independence square as well as funny advertising photo in the travelogue (human+dog? :-)
