Why in Mexico City?
It became the first capital which I visited in America, the highest city I ever visited and my first American civilization which I’m planning to explore more close. It was my dream since my childhood to investigate Aztecs civilization and this desire became stronger after reading some books with new versions about American ancient civilizations. Besides that I liked an American epic action-adventure film directed by Mel Gibson “Apocalipto”.
And the last reason: it is summer here when winter is in Moscow, but in January it isn't very hot.

Mexico city seems a place of extremes. Fascinated by the Aztec Calendar Stone. Lots of great museums here. Interesting page Sergey.
Hola! Great you liked my city!! :)
It literally has been 40 years since I was here. A lot of changes, and you found them. Your comments and pictures are always so informative-be a travel guide for the dogs.
Enjoyed your Mexico page. I especially liked the Aztec calendar and the Anthropology Museum looks and sounds interesting. Funny the Buses being painted like a Zebra, at least you can't get them mixed up with other buses! Excellent Hotel too! Don' think I have ever seen such a large area of slums, quite an eye opener! Thanks for sharing!
Very interesting look at your visit to this megatropolis! Lots of great information and photos here. Thanks for sharing!
I visited Mexico City for almost a week in 1990, but never made it the the Museum of Anthropology, which I regret. Too bad about your suitcase, but good you got it back the next day. I'm surprised they alowed such short time for changing planes.
a very interesting page about a part of Mexico that I have not yet been to, but I see there is a lot to see and explore there !
Sergey, so you are the man who is faster than his own suitcase. *winkygrin* Very well done. Interesting to read about the $ sign being used for the Mexican currency. Brilliant page here.
Good that the murals by Diego Rivera have survived, even the critical parts. And the National Museum of Anthropology looks fantastic!
Oh, I wasn't really aware that you have been in Mexico one year ago! Fascinating to read and watch, especially your long video from inside the museum! Wow! What did I miss during my brief visit in Mexico ages ago! Haha, had to laugh about the song Mexico by Les Humphries. It brought so many childhood memories back, and there is even a Russian version of it! Oh my, how bad that your suitcase wasn't arriving with you. But that does not surprise me, Charles de Gaulle and Airfrance are famous for this... Didn't they at least pay you the taxi ticket for picking it up at the airport? Reliable and competent airlines deliver lost luggage to the hotel....
