Ras Al Khaimah Emirate

The UAE consists of seven emirates, which are Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Umm al-Quwain, Ras al-Khaimah, Fujairah and Ajman. I’ve been to six of them. Ras al-Khaimah can be translated as "The Top of the Tent”. Its short name is simply RAK. It is in the southern part of the Persian Gulf.

Sergey, lovely little page about Ras Al Khaimah, which is probably one of the lesser known Emirates. Greetings from snowy Germany to Ded Moroz. :-)

Ras al-Khaimah can also be translated as "the cape with a tent" as Ras is for head (top but geographically cape) and Khaimah is for tent.

United Arab Emirates is in my travel plans. Also i will be there soon because i change airplane in Dubai to travel to Thailand
