"From Konya to Pamukkale through Afyon" Afyon Ili by Kuznetsov_Sergey

Afyon Ili Travel Guide: 7 reviews and 27 photos

Afyonkarahisar (also called more simply Afyon) is a province in western Turkey.
We came to Afyon Province by bus on our ring-way around Turkey from Konya Province while going to Denizly Province.
The distance between Aksehir and Dinar along the D300 and D320 National roads from east to west is 135 km. It took us about two hours driving. We made only a stop for a lunch somewhere near the Akshehir Lake (I don’t know the exact name of this place).
We enjoyed views at the Sultan Ridge with the great top of 2610m which was covered with snow even in May.

Turkey is divided into 81 provinces, called il in Turkish.
I’ve been to 10 Turkish provinces:
Istanbul Ili
Ankara Ili
Corum Ili
Nevsehir Ili
Konya Ili
Denizli Ili
Izmir Ili
Aydin Ili
Balikesir Ili
Canakkale Ili

and passed through by transit 8 provinces:
Kocaeli, Sakarya, Bolu, Kirikkale, Kirsehir, Aksaray, Afyon, Tekirdag.
In total I saw 18 provinces out of 81!
