Too bad you missed Bethlehem. You can usually get off the bus, walk over and get into a taxi, which will take you to Bethlehem.

It's a pitty you couldn't see Betlehem! I visited a several years ago, took a bus to the check point, walked across the border and took a shared taxi on the other side.
