Welcome to Borovsk, a quaint, hilly town two hours' drive from Moscow. At first sight, the town doesn't look like much, but with some patience it certainly won't leave you disappointed.

I've been there many times in 70th and 80th. My children grew up here when spent summers at dacha 5 rm nearby. This August I came back and was impressed once more - what a wonderful town, celebrating its 650th birthday!

Previt Sergey, As always your photos and videos are amazing. Okroshka is like the French vichyssoise, cold vegetable soup. Yummy! Poka, Larry

Lots of interesting tourist attractions at Borovsk especially its museums, monuments, monasteries, memorials, churches and cathedrals. The Shokin's House, Annunciation Church and Central Square certainly look stunning! ~ho & pang

Colorful pictures, detailed descriptions, and tasty looking okroshka –what’s there not to like about Borovsk? Personally speaking, the food is enough for me to visit this tremendous Russian town.

Very colorful monastery in Borovsk... thanks for letting us see this beautiful part of Russia -- I don't even know where it is on the map...but I'll hire a monk as you said - to show me around! Norman :)

I would be much like to visit Borovsk where somewhere in the vicinity must be the once called village "Nikolo Lushesk" which probably had an entirely different spelling. Great page! Do you know whether there is a Gostinitsa there?

Sergey, interesting page with brilliant photos here. I especially like the photos of the facade paintings and of course of your lovely Lada in front of the Lenin statue. The mystical legend about Borovsk sounds indeed very mystical.

I was very interested in reading your tips on the Old Believers, because they play an important part in the plot of Modest Mussorgsky's opera Khovanschina.
