    • In days of orthodox religious holidays hundred pilgrims come to the monastery and go on a coast of Istra. This site was chosen for its resemblance to the Holy Land. The River Istra represents the River Jordan, and the buildings represent the 'sacral space' or holy places of Jerusalem.

    Mass christenings and religious ablution are made there. Waters of Istra are considered sacred these days.

    Pilgrims go to the Cathedral and repeat a God way of the Savior.

    • In a distance on a coast of Istra named in this place by Jordan, there is one of the earliest monuments of the complex - the tiny four-storeyed building called "pustinka", or a small and secluded monastery of patriarch Nikon.

    • On the day of orthodox Easter we usually observe the appearance of the sacred fire in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Palestine. Fire appears in a small chapel which is situated in the center of the temple. Its external appearance know almost all Christians. However a few really know, that actually they observe a copy of a chapel which was recreated only in the XIX century after clearing Jerusalem of sovereignty of Osmanli empire.

    There is a copy in New Jerusalem as well. However the Russian copy is more exact, because it was built in XVIIth century under drawings and figures of the XVIth century. Therefore pilgrims visiting New Jerusalem have an opportunity to enter into a chapel which more corresponds to the original in Jerusalem, than a chapel available there now.
