Without doubt Munich is one of the most impressious cities of Germany as Berlin, Dresden, Gamburg etc.
The most beautiful views you can get from the Tower of St Peter.
St Peter's church is near Marienplaz . It is the first and the oldest church of the city. The tower in height of 91 meter, " old Peter ", is one of symbols of Munich. A romance basil of XII century was replaced by new constructions in XIII century which a little later became the victims of a city fire of 1327. Basement floors of the western towers which then were joined Gothic new buildings were only kept . Consecration of church has happened in 1368. The western part with the extended average tower was built in 1379-86, and it received a characteristic lantern dome in XVII century.

We spent only 2 days in Munich in 2004.
So we were eager to return there in a year.
We didn't see Resdenz - we should see it now!
Antiquarium is an excellent vaulted hall (1570). Annengallery represents huge interest. The gallery of ancestors where 121 portrait of the Bavarian princes is exhibited. The excellent collection of porcelain of various known manufactories of the Europe and Asia is stored in a museum. The treasury of a museum stores jewels, among which image over George killing a dragon. It is possible to look altars and the jeweler ornaments created in Middle Ages, to visit court church. . Get used to an idea, that in baroque Catholic Churches remains sacred are presented in transparent boxes!

    I enjoy looking at your page as I have been several times in Munich for scientific meetings and never had enough spare time to visit properly the city. Your page reminds me of the few glimpses I had. Great city, I love it!

    Aha, Zurich had the lions first! They were good fun! I've only been to Munich for one hour once between trains many years ago. So many places I should go so close to home! Thanks Sergey!

    you're lucky to visit the city in the summer time. I've been ther last January and it was very snowing. But lions are still everywhere and it's funny :-)
