What to put on in Russian Monasteries

There are some traditions which you have to follow when you visit Russian Orthodox monasteries. They concern mostly women: they have to put on shawls and don’t wear trousers. But if it happened you are in trousers they ask you to put on a skirt over it. They offer you a large shawl as a skirt.
So you can see Irina in such a shawl instead of skirt which she forgot to take to the trip…
Man can feel free – no restrictions in clothes (but I wouldn’t go there in shorts), but don’t forget to take off your hat when you enter inside a church…
