Yes, I was very impressed by this canal when I saw it years ago. I think it is entirely at sea level, with no locks or anything, if I remember correctly. -- Thanks for your visit to my new Spiez page.

The canal is certainly impressive I see from JLB's comment it was built by the French :)
I agree that the Corinth canal is really impressive, especially thinking that it was dug (by the French) with manpower and not modern technology! Actually, Emperor Nero started digging the canal by prisoners but the task was abandoned when he died.
