Getting TO/AROUND: Poros is situated at the distance of almost 50 kilometers from Piraeus.

You may get to it by four ways:
1) by ferry: 8 times a day for 6,5 Euro (2 hours and a half).
2) another way by high speed Dolphin 6 times a day for 13 Euro (1 hour).
3) if you don't like sea journeys you may get to Galatas (Argolida) by bus from Athens through Epidaurus and then - by boat (360 meters) 6 times an hour for 0,30 Euro (5 minutes).
4) I arrived there by cruise ship Giorgis (2 hours and a half for 80 Euro including Hydra, Aegina and lunch).

First three ways are good for close and thorough acquaintance with the island. The fourth way is good for quick and perfunctory manner of travelling. The cruise ship makes only one-hour stop on the island.

In Poros, the rhythm of a flocks of tourists flooding the island for a few hours and leaving must build a special atmosphere!
