Thermopilai Travel Guide: 9 reviews and 35 photos
Thermopylae ("hot gateway") is a location in Greece where a narrow coastal passage existed in antiquity. It derives its name from several natural hot water springs.

WOW, this was history lesson in its purest form!! I must come back to watch the youtube ones you linked in your general tip, tonight or tomorrow. And yours with Requeim of a Dream - absolutely fantastic!!! Thanks!!!
Yeah, I remember the history and the old movie... Thanks for reminding me of that place! So many must'see activities in Greece...
What an interesting and historic spot to visit! A pity though, that pedestrians cannot cross the (inevitable) road through the pass.
Ah yes, what boy never heard of the famous Battle of Thermopylae!! It must have been nice to actually visit the famous site yourself! Too bad about the highway cutting it in half though.
Lovely page on Thermopilai. Interesting that no one else has a page on this place.
Great page!
I always like it when I'm the first to make a page of an unknown town (very big smile). Well done!
Thats an interesting place of history, I remember we had to learn about it in school. Great when such a place comes "alive" on VT !
I enjoyed reading VT's first and only Thermopilai page, and looking at your fine photos and videos.
Oh, wow, Sergey. This is dramatic stuff. Watched the slides and the video you taped from the movie...wild music. When do you find the time to do all these wonderful projects. I am so impressed.
