""Most German of German towns"" Top 5 Page for this destination Rothenburg ob der Tauber by Kuznetsov_Sergey

Rothenburg ob der Tauber Travel Guide: 593 reviews and 1,873 photos

Rothenburg was hailed as "the most German of German towns".
It is well known for its well-preserved medieval Old town. In the Middle Ages it was an Imperial Free City.
We came there from Oberfranken (Upper Franconia) to explore the famous Bavarian Romantische Strasse. We didn’t leave our German shepherds in the car and brought them for a walk along Rothenburg. Zharden and Zarina fom Irin Hof were very glad and enjoyed this beautiful town with us.

I was in Rothenburg odT once shortly after the wall came down. It was mobbed with tourists. Fame comes with a price, right? Comprehensive page, I guess you covered all the major sights. Would love to have a walk on the city walls.

Yes, sometimes that is a price for such interesting places! Nevertheless they are worth visiting.

I like your pages very much and hope this region is the next for us to take in Spring 2012. I had been here on short bus tours. Really good information on the pub drinkers that abused to privledge and got barreled

Fine tips and photos! It?s nice that so many friendly people tried to speak to you about your dogs. I?ve never been to Rothenburg, though I know the rest of the Tauber Valley quite well, especially Weikersheim, Queckbronn and Tauberrettersheim.
