It is impossible to express all unpleasant emotions which fill me when I recollect a word "Brest" and an awful place - boundary transition "the Warsaw bridge".

Six years, since 1999 we pass an execution in aspiration to drive to Poland, and then in two weeks - to return back to Brest.

Each time, approaching to Bylorussia-Poland border I steadfastly peer forward trying to see the beginning of a turn to boundary transition.

During seven years from 1999 till 2005 we have lost some day in this place. Therefore in 2006 we have made a decision to go to Europe by northern way through Finland.

Sergey, lovely little page about Brest. Interesting to read about the waiting times at the border. Wehn we entered Belarus by bus from Vilnius to Minsk we passed an about 3 to 4 km long queue of trucks. Incredible. We stayed 3 nights in Brest and really liked the town a lot.

I spend less time eating a Paris-Brest (a french pastry) or even on a trip to Brest (in France) than you crossing the border to Poland Sergey! :-). Interesting history there.

Now the schengen community will englobe poland and lithuania , so there will be perhaps a new iron curtain to cross with belarus
