| | In compere with Renaissance castles of Loire, Carcassonne Castle has much more ancient and severe view. It became clear on an entrance to city when we reached it because the castle is situated at a significant eminence.
Even in Moscow, getting acquainted with the program of my travel, I have become interested in prospect to visit a medieval castle. |
| | From what I saw earlier, it is possible to compare Carcassonne with Trakay in Lithuania which, certainly, on scales is modest. It is possible to see here the true medieval city as we imagine it in various films about the Middle Ages.
For certain, I saw this city in any film. Walls of old city seem absolutely unapproachable, especially from from the external side. You try to imagine, storm whence could begin. And it seems, that this is a hopeless business everywhere. |
