Topkapi Palace entrance
In my opinion the Topkapi Palace - Topkapi Sarayi is among the most important attractions of Istanbul (such as Hagia Sophia, Sultanahmet or Bosphorus). That’s why I’ve constructed a set of tips about it and advice to visit this place in any way you come to Istanbul.
The palace is a complex made up of four main courtyards and many smaller buildings.
Topkapi Palace Museum is closed on Tuesdays. On other days, the museum is open between 9.00-17.00 hours.
Topkapi Palace Entrance Tickets can only be obtained from the ticket windows located at the 1st Courtyard of Topkapi Palace Museum. A separate ticket is required for Harem (women’s quarters) visits.
The entrance fee for Topkapý Palace Museum is 10 YTL (you can see my ticket at the fifth pic).
The entrance fee for Harem is 10 YTL.
Harem entrance tickets are sold at the ticket window in front of the Harem entrance.

Firuz Aga Mosque
The mosque was built by Firuz Aða, head treasurer of Sultan Bayezit II. (1447- 1512) in 1491. The mosque is located in the historical center of the city, on the Divanyolu Street, close to other prominent historical landmarks, Sultanahmet Mosque, Aya Sofya and Basilica Cistern.
It has a square plan with a dome and reflects Bursa style. It was built from cut stone and placed on an octagonal tambour. The marble sarcophagus of Firuz Aga is present in front of the wall where the minaret is located.
Address: Sultanahmet, Divanyolu Cad, Sultanahmet Mah

The Dolmabahçe Palace located at the European side of the Bosporus. It served as the main administrative center of the Ottoman Empire from 1853 to 1922, apart from a twenty-year interval (1889-1909) in which the Yildiz Palace was used.
The palace is composed of three parts; the Mabeyn-i Hümâyûn (or Selamlik, the quarters reserved for the men), Muayede Salonu (the ceremonial halls) and the Harem-i Hümayun (the Harem, the apartments of the family of the Sultan). The palace has an area of 45,000 m2 (11.2 acres), and contains 285 rooms, 44 halls, 6 baths (hamam) and 68 toilets.

Monument of Fatih
Mehmet II also known as el-Fatih "the Conqueror" was Sultan of the Ottoman Empire who at the age of 21 conquered Constantinople, bringing an end to the Byzantine Empire.
The Commemorative Monument of Fatih – Conqueror of Istanbul you can see in Fatih area at the Sarachane Park near the Valens Aqueduct.
The Maiden's Tower also known in the ancient Greek and medieval Byzantine periods as Leander's Tower, sits on a small islet located in the Bosphorus strait off the coast of Üsküdar.
There are many legends about the construction of the tower and its location. Today, there is a restaurant in the first floor and a café at the top of the tower.

The Bosphorus Bridge is one of the two bridges in Istanbul, spanning the Bosphorus strait and thus connecting Europe and Asia. It was completed in 1973. The bridge is located between Ortaköy (on the European side) and Beylerbeyi (on the Asian side).
It is 1,510 m long with a deck width of 39 m. The distance between the towers (main span) is 1,074 m and their height over road level is 105 m. The clearance of the bridge from sea level is 64 m.

The Valens Aqueduct was the major water-providing system of medieval Constantinople. Restored by several Ottoman Sultans, it is one of the most important landmarks of the city.
The aqueduct stands in the quarter of Fatih, and spans the valley between the hills occupied today by the Istanbul University and the Fatih The Atatürk Bulvarý boulevard passes under its arches.
The Aqueduct of Valens had a length of 971 meters and a maximum height of ca. 29 meters with a constant slope of 1:1000. Arches 1-40 and 46-51 belong to the time of Valens, arches 41-45 to Mustafa II, and those between 52 and 56 to Suleyman I. Arches 18-73 have a double order, the others a single order.

Galata Bridge-Galata Köprüsü
The Galata Bridge is a bridge that spans the Golden Horn.
The oldest recorded bridge over the Golden Horn in Istanbul was built during the reign of Justinian the Great in the 6th century close to the area near the Theodosian Land Walls at the western end of the city. In 1453, during the Fall of Constantinople, the Turks assembled a mobile bridge by putting their ships next to each other and used it for transporting their troops from one side of the Golden Horn to the other.
The fifth Galata bridge was built in 1994. It is a bascule bridge, which is 490 m long with a main span of 80 m. The deck of the bridge is 42 m wide and has three vehicular lanes and one walkway in each direction.

Galata Tower-Galata Kulesi
The Galata Tower is one of the city's most striking landmarks. It is a huge, cone-capped cylinder that dominates the skyline on the Galata side of the Golden Horn.
The tower was built in 1348 during an expansion of the Genoese colony in Constantinople. It was the apex of the fortifications surrounding the Genoese citadel of Galata.
The nine-story tower is about 67 meters tall. The tower has a diameter of 16.5 meter at the base, with 9 meters diameter inside. The upper section of the tower with the conical cap was slightly modified in several restorations during the Ottoman period when it was used as an observation tower for spotting fires.

Walls of Constantinople
The Walls of Constantinople are a series of stone walls that have surrounded and protected the city of Constantinople. With numerous additions and modifications during their history, they were the last great fortification system of antiquity, and one of the most complex and elaborate systems ever built.
The advent of gunpowder siege cannons rendered the fortifications less impregnable.
