Nancy is one of the most elegant and beautiful cities in France. There were kept a lot of fine monuments.
Polish king Stanislav became the original hero of Lorraine. Though many people firstly grumbled against him. | | French Nancy is well-known for the architectural ensembles. The UNESCO included the city in the list of the World heritage of mankind. The local Stanislav's square is considered one of the most beautiful in the world, but also there is the set of baroque and rococo palaces and houses, parks and squares. The whole last year there was celebrated the XVIIIth century which became "the gold" for the history of the city.
In the XVIII century the Polish king Stanislav - prince Lorrensky, father-in-law of Lui XV, equipped Nancy with the fine square, with gold lattices and fountains. |

This is really a very thorough visit of Nancy! Same than Metz, I went often in Nancy but 90% of the time for work and 10% for a rest with a beer n some terrace with a view on Stanislas Place. Not much time for a visit! | LoriPori Mon Aug 6, 2007 12:08 UTC
Enjoyed this page on Nancy. We were once in the area of Nancy many years ago, but sadly did not go directly into the city. The parks and architecture are wonderful. Thanks for the history of Nancy. |
