Schloß Linderhof Travel Guide: 90 reviews and 334 photos
In 2004 we visited Herrenchiemsee, Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein Castles. So in 2005 we couldn't pass Linderhof. It is one among the three most interesting Castles of Bavarian king Ludwig II. And it’s the only one which was finished when the king was still alive.
Linderhof castle is much younger than previous castles and, therefore, its architecture mixed just two styles: Renaissance and Baroque.
This luxurious piece of architecture in rococo style is an imitation of Louis XIY palaces. There are different pavilions in the park, as well as a man-made “Blue Grotto” erected by Ludwig II for performing plays set to music of his favorite composer and friend Otto Wagner.
If you are interested in beautiful Bavarian castles and mysterious Bavarian king I recommend to visit my following pages:
1) Herrenchiemsee;
2) Schwangau;
3) Hohenschwangau ;
4) Schloss Hohenschwangau;
5) Neuschwanstein;
6) Fuessen.

I wonder if Linderhof attracts such crowds of tourists as Neuschwanstein. It is really disturbing. Linderhof itself and the landscape look amazing in your pictures. Well done.
Great page!
What a splendid place to visit and to enjoy! Good for you~!
Love this King Ludwig Castle - it's so beautiful, as also the wonderful gardens and fountain. Great page Sergey.
I see you are a real expert of bavarian castles:) To my mind Linderhof is the best...
Interesting tip of the Moorish Kiosk
Great page!!! It is a pity that they don't allow photos inside the castle!!! I was very disappointing when discover it!!!
Wow, Sergey, these castles are beautiful, King Ludwig certainly knew how to live! Fantastic photos and loved your descriptions.
King Ludwig created a beautiful retreat for himself--dramatic fountains, gorgeous statuary and a magnificent palace...it IS good to be king...hee,hee!
Fantastic, Servey. Such beauty. Loved the fountain. Your descriptions are terrific, and I also enjoyed your travelogues. These are some of your most alluring pages. Thanks for such outstanding work.
