Where My Travelling Motto Comes From?

"Its not about the place but the people"

New years eve 2002, I was in Sydney quite the opposite to being on the other side of the world in rainy cold manchester in December 2002. I had only just arrived and knew one person.

I spent it by the Harbour Bridge and the opera house with a bunch of people I barely knew. This group had already been formed and it was difficult to join in with the celebrations of a new year with people I knew I would not really get to know. It was a disapointment, the scene was magical but the atmosphere around me was a let down.

The People

Contrasting to my experience in Sydney, I spent time in Koh Panghan before the full moon party.

I had been offered accommodation by several reps and chose a place to stay based on the person who came across as the most honest.

The night we arrived in the Thai Island of Phangan, I was invited by the rep to come for dinner at the house she was staying. This was truly a great night. This family took me in and I was pleased to be there and they were pleased to have me in their company.

We were eating and drinking outside a very basic shack with a family that didnt have much to offer but understood the simple things on how to enjoy life!!

It was Grrrrreat!!!

hi there n tnx! zagreb winter - could be with/without snow but do bring warm clothes.with the changes in the weather we had 2 decembers or so ago 11 c!!! check b4 going! should be jolly though with all the sausage stands and cooked wine to keep u warm :)
