From Home County To The Capital Born and bred in Essex (no jokes about being an Essex girl please!!!), I moved out to London to study at university and loved London so much that I've stayed put ever since. I love the vibrant atmosphere this city has to offer, with plenty of shops and restaurants within easy access thanks to the excellent transport system. London is now my home and I'm staying here for good.

The Travel Bug I started travelling from a young age, going away with the parents on our annual holidays. However, I don't have much recollections from those trips, which is a shame.
I would say that my "real" holidays began after I graduated from university, where I had to plan and pay for the trips myself, so I made sure I got as much as possible out of these trips. And that is when the travel bug first started.

On Sabbatical I took a sabbatical from October 2005 to April 2006. During this period, I made full use of the time available and went TRAVELLING! What joy! I did a round-the-world trip from Oct 05 to Jan 06 (visited the Far East, Australasia and North America) and have also been on a few shorter trips from Jan 06 - Mar 06. Going back to work was so depressing! :(

Virtual Tourist Addiction Since discovering Virtual Tourist, I now have the habit of writing a travel log when I'm away, and taking photos of hotels, restaurants, food ordered, buses, trains, taxis (and their stations) etc. - I guess these are symptoms of VT addiction?! |
