"As we left Madrid, the scenery became more open and finally gave way to beautiful fields of gold and light green. We entered into the region of Castillo, filled with olive tree groves and tiny towns. Toledo stands on a plateau in what they call "The Meseta," or table land. Winding streets led us into town with breathtaking views of an old castle, the cathedral, and the Tagus River. Since the streets of Toledo are so narrow, we left the bus and started out on foot. " |
