Tatiana Restaurant: Tatiana Restaurant

This is really niceplace to have luch, supper or just to sit, rest and drink beer or so. The interior is originally designed and this seems to make the athmosphere of the restaurant. Both, the outside and the Tatiana's interior are nice and make impresion. The service was fine. Credit cards accepted.

The restaurant is open in the summer from 9 am till midnight and in the winter from 10 am till 11 pm.

Favorite Dish: The Tatiana restaurant serves slavonic cuisine. You can eat here for example: Moscow's barszcz soup, patato pancakes in Latvian style or `Kulebiak` - one of the most popular Russian meal - with mashrooms and cabbage.

Chopin Restaurant: Some more about Chopin Restaurant

One of the worst things about the restaurant is that it is not located in the city centre. You need to take a taxi, or a tram to get there.

Favorite Dish: The restaurant serves dishes of both Italian and Silesian cuisine. The menu card is a real horn of plenty offering Italian, Silesian and old-Polish delicacies. You may easily be tempted by the traditional Silesian rolled beef with dumplings and red cabbage, fricassee of Mazurian crawfish with pearl gruel or carpaccio of fresh salmon and sole in condiment of lemon and dill. The sole from the oven and spinach and gorgonzola tastes just as delicious. Connoisseurs of superior liquors will also find  items of interest being able to choose out of the sumptuous carte de vine from the vineyards of France, Italy, Spain the New World.

To finish your dinner or supper with, they recommend delicious desserts such as for example freshly baked apple-pie with ice-cream or our famous egg-liquor Chopin cake. The sweets must surely be accompanied by coffee : freshly-roasted and ground Italian coffee made at our bar in the Rancilio espresso wish preserves its unique taste and aroma. They also recommend the Humidor cigar and a glass of whisky at the fire-place or in the closed-circle atmosphere of the club hall with your  favourite music to keep you company and make you feel at home.

Chopin Restaurant: Chopin Restaurant

This is one of the most exclusive and best restaurants in Katowice. The interior and food makes the place unique and great for celebrating some special occasions.

I had dinner with friends from VT who visited Katowice. We had really great time. However, there were some strange things to mention. First, the waitress didn't speak English or just know it very little. Secondly, the restaurant was empty. During our, longer than one hour, dinner there was nobody except us. Finally, there was no music and before our visit we wanted to listen to Chopin music at this restaurant... :)

Anyway, I would say that the food was really tasty, the atmosphere was great and I do recommend this place. Just have a look at my pictures.:)

Green way: Green Way

This is a new bar offers vegetarian dishes in Katowice. I visited it once and I am sure I will come back again and again. This is all - Polish vegetarian restaurant chain and even not only Polish as you may find one restaurant in Oslo and Vienna, too.;)

There are wide varieties of vegetarian dishes here. And all dishes are quite not expensive what is important for students, for example.:) Just good to visit sometimes, even for a soup.:)

This is a nice looking restaurant, both from ourside and inside. It consists of two rooms: `One of them is a romantic place for a late dinner or lovely evening with a family or friends. This candle lit room has comfortable inviting sofas for enjoying delightful meals. The stylish wine cabinet and cocktail bar tempts with many drinks from around the world.

The second room - this bright flower filled room with big windows is very open and airy. There is a fireplace in center of the room where food can be cooked over an open fire. This is the perfect place for business meetings or casual conversation with friends.` From the lovely terrace you can take in views of the "Trzech Stawów" Valley, enjoying a little breeze, especially on hot summer days.

The food was tasty but the service was a little bit lazy...

Sicilia Pizzeria Ristorante offers a wide variety of Italian and Sicilian food. You may eat here pizzas, pastas, fish or vegetables and drink a good wine. It is possible to try famous vodka 'grappa lemoncello' at Sicilia Pizzeria Ristorante.

The restaurant is well designed and it is one of the best pizza restaurants in Katowice. You will eat your meals listening to an Italian music and relaxing in a comfortable chairs and sofas....

University's Canteen: University's Canteen

This is ideal place to eat, especially for young people. I often eat here and I am almost always satiesfied.:) This is rather large place, with about 100 seats. Menu is only in Polish but it doesn't matter as there are lots of students who usually speak some English and are ready to give a hand and translate.

Favorite Dish: You may choose four sets of second dish and usually two soups. The price for all meal is 8,50 PLN. You may buy only 2nd dish from 5,50 - 7,0PLN. drinks and salads are for free and you may take how much you want.:) In addition, there will be bread or sometimes something sweet or fruit for free.

Jazz Club Hipnoza: Jazz Club Hipnoza

This is one of the most popular bar in Katowice. When you ask young people were to go and spend some time with friends they will probably tell you to go to Hipnoza. In fact, it is unique and original place. As in the name, jazz music is on, with life concerts, usually on weekends. They serve a wide variety of drinks, as well as cold and hot meals.

Zloty Osiol: Vegetarian - Zloty Osiol

Zloty Osiol (Golden Donkey) is the first vegetarian restaurant in Silesia. An authors' cuisine of Mariola Podemska and Iwona Sitko - Urbanowicz, both of them fascinated by healthy food. The staff is very spontaneous, helpful and friendly. The inside of the restaurant is just like in tale.

Favorite Dish: There is a vide variety of vegetable casseroles (zapiekanka); pancakes (nalesniki): mexican or sweet; stew; pasta; omelette, lazagne; risotto; tortillas and lots of fresh salads.

Europa Bar: The cheapest meals

This is probably the cheapest way to have a lunch or so. Soups are less than 1PLN, and all-course lunch shouldn't be more than 5-7PLN. However, the menu is only in Polish so you need to know names of the meals. In addition, there eat sometimes poor people, even homeless and it can be not nice to sit close as they can be not fresh...
