Hmm... This is strange. I had wrote that Pszczyna is The Pearl of Upper Silesia and after I found on an official Pszczyna website this quote: `Pszczyna is not called the Pearl of Upper Silesia for nothing`.:)

Anyway, I think it is one of the most beautiful towns in this region. When visiting Katowice it is a must to head for Pszczyna and explore its unique atmospohere.

I gained information about Pszczyna from the official webisite of the town hall.

The medieval settlement of Pszczyna grew on a trade route which led from Cracow to Silesia, then farther through Cieszyn to the south of Europe.

Today, Pszczyna also makes profit from its convenient location. The town is situated at the Katowice -Bielsko-Biala - Cieszyn route, between the Upper Silesian Industrial Area and the Beskidy mountains. It takes only an hour by car to reach one of the two main airports in the region, and half an hour to get to the border checkpoint of Czech Republic.

Excellent page, Piotr. Looks like there's much more for me to see next time I'm in Pszczyna!
