I worked out at the University of British Columbia botanical gardens, and in my and many other peoples views, it is well worth your time to visit when you are in Vancouver for a holiday. It's at the very western end of Vancouver, {not really in Vancouver at all} there are transit services that will get you out there, or free parking for the visitors, the main garden is quite large, over 70 or more acres, but as it is not funded by the government, like other gardens, we don't have the resources for too much. When we do get donations, that money goes directly into areas they figure need work the most. Recently we've been getting alot of work done in area's that have for years been neglected, for such a large place, we are very short staffed and this creates many problems. But still, when you come out for your visit, you will be greeted by some good people. And if you would like a personal tour, that can be happily arranged for you, to suit your wishes and needs. There is a wheelchair for those who require one. Although the pathways that you can use this chair on, will only take you through a minimum of acres, as most pathways and roads are not designed for the disabled, but we are working on that. Just recently, some donations were given to the garden to purchase two of those handy little personal carts for the disabled to get around easily, these can be found at the gate house as you enter. Also, another new feature which has been brought in here are a personal audio tour, these are small hand-held devices which resemble a phone, all you have to do is, punch in the number when you come to a sign, and you will learn about that particular plant along with a story concerning how it came to the garden.

Any time of the year, Granville Island is a fantastic market to hit. There is plenty of produce down here, and on the Island itself, you'll find lot's to keep your interest. Theatres, shops, ferry rides, the Emily Carr Art School claims some ground down here as well. Woodworkers co-op has a venue where you can browse or shop for gifts.

Canada Place is not only a beautiful structure, resembling a long ship with multi sails, but it houses convention centres, restaurants a world class hotel and hosts many interesting events. This is also the major Cruise ship port, very classy. The IMAX theatre is housed in this building, and is a very impressive "event", if you've never experienced a night out at the IMAX movies, try it here. Their program changes frequently, so you'll be able to choose something.

The Museum of Anthropology on the University of British Columbia's campus, should be on your must see list. It is not only a beautiful structure, but is filled with first nations art and culture, local carvers, some now dead, some currently living and very much on display. Once in awhile they'll get carvers in, who set-up in the large room on the south/western end and spend weeks there creating a new piece. The grounds around this museum have much to see as well. So if you want to keep the money in your pocketbook for other things, you can spend some time exploring this site. The views are amazing, you'll see the local mountains over on the northshore, which at certain times of the year, will have some snow still on them. UBC campus is not far off, just a very short walk away, and there is plenty to see and do here also.

AuBar is an upscale club for those who are looking for more sophistication with the sort of polished elegance one might find only in a place like New York. Elegant candle light tables, a twisting arrangement of intimate seating areas with beautiful custom furniture allowa you to relax in comfort and style.
AuBar has become a favorite stomping ground for many of Vancouver's social elite, and has also become well known outside the city as the place to go on a both Friday and Saturday night. Not only has the word spread across Canada, but in the well travelled party circles of Hollywood as well.
Many familiar faces have been known to frequent AuBar, such as Ryan Phillipe, Cuba Gooding Jr., Heather Graham, Obie Trice, Chris Klein, Carmen Electra and Gary Buse to name a few.
With a 22 foot ceiling, the club has an open feel while still maintaining two separate and distinct areas. In addition, there are three bars and an immaculately clean and creatively designed space.

BAR NONE was founded in 1992, is located in the heart of Yaletown at the corner of Davie and Hamilton Street. The interior space has a warm, intimate, familiar atmosphere that captures everybody's search for a feel-good, downtown vibe. BAR NONE boasts a newly renovated room that coincides with an unforgettable 10 year anniversary. Built around the original post and beam architecture of a converted warehouse, BAR NONE ascends from a history going back to the early 1920's (when the horses that were used to deliver milk door to door) would nestle in for the night under the same roof that exists today.
Presently ....cool, fresh and vintage sounds fill the airways, featuring both live music and the hottest DJ's the city has to offer. BAR NONE has a handsome clientele and superior bar staff that move gracefully about a postmodern setting. The lighting is romantic and the crowd as fashionable as the venue that envelops it.
BAR NONE is perfect for provate functions, wrap parties or special events. It is located in the heart of Yaletown, the center of Vancouver's burgeoning high tech scene, also makes it the place to be for all young professionals.

The Buffalo Club, is located on Granville Street in the heart of Vancouver's Entertainment district, it's fast becoming one of the city's most popular hotspots for live music and good times! This hot party spot boasts pool table, great low drink prices, a newly renovated room, plasma screen viewing, and party tunes keeping the party rockin' 7 days a week!
Weekends bring great live music with one of the house cover bands and featuring DJ Superfly playing the latest and greatest to keep you on the dancefloor. Guestlist is recommended as they tend to fill up early in the evening.
Make a point of checking out Sundays, one of their signature nights and attracting a huge bar and nightclub industry crowd. Take a ride on the mechanical bull, enjoy $2.50 Coronas and $2.50 Jack Daniels, dance the night away to the sounds of DJ Frost, or just kick back and check out the scene.
