BAR NONE was founded in 1992, is located in the heart of Yaletown at the corner of Davie and Hamilton Street. The interior space has a warm, intimate, familiar atmosphere that captures everybody's search for a feel-good, downtown vibe.
BAR NONE boasts a newly renovated room that coincides with an unforgettable 10 year anniversary. Built around the original post and beam architecture of a converted warehouse, BAR NONE ascends from a history going back to the early 1920's (when the horses that were used to deliver milk door to door) would nestle in for the night under the same roof that exists today.

Presently ....cool, fresh and vintage sounds fill the airways, featuring both live music and the hottest DJ's the city has to offer. BAR NONE has a handsome clientele and superior bar staff that move gracefully about a postmodern setting. The lighting is romantic and the crowd as fashionable as the venue that envelops it.

BAR NONE is perfect for provate functions, wrap parties or special events. It is located in the heart of Yaletown, the center of Vancouver's burgeoning high tech scene, also makes it the place to be for all young professionals.

Window Shopping down at the island Granville Island Review

Any time of the year, Granville Island is a fantastic market to hit. There is plenty of produce down here, and on the Island itself, you'll find lot's to keep your interest.
Theatres, shops, ferry rides, the Emily Carr Art School claims some ground down here as well. Woodworkers co-op has a venue where you can browse or shop for gifts.

Mother Lantern and Nitobe Pond - Vancouver

Mother Lantern and Nitobe Pond

Stroll in a tranquile setting Nitobe Memorial Japanese Gardens Review

If you enjoy a pleasant stroll through a beautiful garden, then you are really going to like Nitobe Memorial Japanese Gardens. Named for well respected diplomat, scholar, educator, and writer, Igazo Nitobe (1862-1933).
Professor Nitobe's personal goal was "to become a bridge across the Pacific", and he was returning from a peace conference in Banff, Alberta, when he died in Victoria, B.C.
In his memory, his friends commissioned a lantern which was brought from Japan and placed on the campus of the fledgling University of British Columbia. His image was placed in 1984, on the 5,000 Yen note
Gradually, the idea of a Japanese garden for the young campus took root, and its realization fell to UBC president Dr. Norman MacKenzie.
Not open in the dead of winter, unless arranged, but open every other time of the year.
Plus during the summer, you can partake in learning the art of the Japanese tea ceremony. Well worth a day.

Minotaur & Hare sculpture at the botanical gardens - Vancouver

Minotaur & Hare sculpture at the botanical gardens

ubc botanical garden & centre for plant research UBC Botanical Garden Review

I worked out at the University of British Columbia botanical gardens, and in my and many other peoples views, it is well worth your time to visit when you are in Vancouver for a holiday. It's at the very western end of Vancouver, {not really in Vancouver at all} there are transit services that will get you out there, or free parking for the visitors, the main garden is quite large, over 70 or more acres, but as it is not funded by the government, like other gardens, we don't have the resources for too much. When we do get donations, that money goes directly into areas they figure need work the most.
Recently we've been getting alot of work done in area's that have for years been neglected, for such a large place, we are very short staffed and this creates many problems. But still, when you come out for your visit, you will be greeted by some good people. And if you would like a personal tour, that can be happily arranged for you, to suit your wishes and needs. There is a wheelchair for those who require one. Although the pathways that you can use this chair on, will only take you through a minimum of acres, as most pathways and roads are not designed for the disabled, but we are working on that. Just recently, some donations were given to the garden to purchase two of those handy little personal carts for the disabled to get around easily, these can be found at the gate house as you enter. Also, another new feature which has been brought in here are a personal audio tour, these are small hand-held devices which resemble a phone, all you have to do is, punch in the number when you come to a sign, and you will learn about that particular plant along with a story concerning how it came to the garden.

Address: 6804 Southwest Marine Drive, Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z4

Directions:

Head West along Broadway, turn south on Alma, and then turn right on 10th avenue, this will have you heading up a long hill and out to the university of BC. the number 10 ubc bus will get you there as well.

Science World - Vancouver
Science World Science World Review

Under the giant mirror ball at the end of the False Creek harbour in the city of Vancouver, sits Science World in which can be found many interesting and educational exibits. Some interactive environments, and exhibits. And lately, one of the most incredibly interesting exhibits is on. Called: Body Worlds 3, an exhibit of the human body stripped bare, in positions of movement. This exihibit is open to visitors of all ages. They recommend that children under 13 are accompanied by an adult. The eyes and genitals of the bodies remain, and there are several areas that explore reproduction. A section of the exhibition highlights prenatal development and includes embryos and fetuses. The specimens come from voluntary body donors who agreed that, upon their death, their bodies could be used for public display in a Body World's exhibition. All specimens are preserved by a process called Plastination invented by Dr. Gunther von Hagens. The plastinates are odourless and completely dry, each is accompanied by a written description in English. There is one area where visitors may touch specimens, other wise it's hands off!
The poses the bodies have been placed in, make them look still alive, and ready to jump around.

If you are into getting out on the Ocean for a day of quiet paddling in the harbour, then renting a kayak or canoe should be what you are searching for.

Buffalo Club - Vancouver

Buffalo Club

Even more clubs

The Buffalo Club, is located on Granville Street in the heart of Vancouver's Entertainment district, it's fast becoming one of the city's most popular hotspots for live music and good times! This hot party spot boasts pool table, great low drink prices, a newly renovated room, plasma screen viewing, and party tunes keeping the party rockin' 7 days a week!

Weekends bring great live music with one of the house cover bands and featuring DJ Superfly playing the latest and greatest to keep you on the dancefloor. Guestlist is recommended as they tend to fill up early in the evening.

Make a point of checking out Sundays, one of their signature nights and attracting a huge bar and nightclub industry crowd. Take a ride on the mechanical bull, enjoy $2.50 Coronas and $2.50 Jack Daniels, dance the night away to the sounds of DJ Frost, or just kick back and check out the scene.

A hip positive room located in the heart of downtown Vancouver business district experience the friendly and quality service in one of the world's most stylish rooms as voted by Conde Nast Traveler - 2004, while savoring the unique West Coast style with a South Western flavour of our signature flavour dishes at exceptional value orchestrated by Executive Chef Edmond Cheung.
