Horseback-riding at Taal Vista - Tagaytay

Horseback-riding at Taal Vista

Taal Vista

Taal Vista, adjacent to the popular Taal Vista Hotel, is a viewing ground with horseback-riding facility (P150-P200 per horse per hour) and is open to the public. True enough it offers one of the best views of Taal Volcano, Taal Lake and the surrounding mountains and ridges in Tagaytay. My Tagaytay Homepage main photo was taken from there.

Directions: Turn right at the Tagaytay rotunda (when coming from Manila). Taal Vista is on the left side of the road just before reaching Taal Vista Hotel (at left) and Casino Filipino (at right).

Picnic grounds with beautiful scenery - Tagaytay

Picnic grounds with beautiful scenery

Picnic Grove Picnic Grove Review

For picnic lovers, this is the place in Tagaytay. Picnic Grove offers a variety of recreations for everybody, especially the family. They have picnic cottages and pavilions worth P150-P500 each, a lush 500 meters long eco-adventure trail (with one disgusting sight though - lots of garbage below the hanging bridge midway of the trail -- calling the attention of the park management!!), a paintball war jungle, a volcano and lake viewdeck, a horseback riding area and some nice souvenir shops.

Entrance Fee: P25pp
Parking Fee: P25

Directions: When coming from Manila through Aguinaldo Highway, turn left at the rotunda. Go straight to the direction leading to the People's Park. Picnic Grove is on the right side of the road.

The Zipline - Tagaytay

The Zipline

Zipline and Cable Car

Affordable and basic, the Zipline and Cable Car is actually inside the Picnic Grove compound [see previous tips on how to go there]. The zipline was a fun experience [kids will love it too!]. The cage-like cable car looks boring though [ we didn't try it].

Zipline: P200 one-way, P300 two-way
Cable car: P? [didn't bother to ask; taray haha!]

Address: Picnic Grove, Tagaytay City

Directions: Inside the compound of Picnic Grove

Casino Filipino - Tagaytay

Casino Filipino

The Gamblers' Crown

Visible even from afar, the crown on top of Casino Filipino building is a popular landmark in Tagaytay. According to a gambler-friend, this branch of the Casino Filipino has better service and facilities compared to its counterparts in Manila.

Directions: Just opposite Taal Vista Hotel

People's Park - Tagaytay

People's Park

People's Park People's Park Review

Used to be known as the Palace in the Sky, the People's Park sits on top of the highest point in Tagaytay (750m ASL). It was built during the time of former Pres. Marcos, primarily to accomodate the planned visit of former US President Reagan, which did not happen. Today, the place looks more of a deserted mansion than a park; never mind missing it. The place is better seen from afar (see thumbnail).

What makes the Residence Inn special is its mountainside mini-zoo, below the hotel building. The zoo is open to the public for a fee, P50pp.
