Catanduanes - Rough it Up with Nature!

by bike_packer - last update: Jun 24, 2006

Puraran - Surf and bum!

Puraran - Surf Destination
Catanduanes is one of my travel destinations by incident. Got some work here to energize a supplied power transformer; and I cant help myself trying to squeeze some time in-between or after work to check the place. Have gone as far as Puraran Beach - a word-of-the-mouth beach destination.

Very tranquil and not yet (at least) touristy, Puraran Beach in Baras, Catanduanes hosts one of the legs of the annual Phil Surfing Circuit Competition. Favorable swells from October to January.
Solong Falls

Waterfalls everywhere.

Geographically mountainous with lush forrests, Catanduanes abounds with many waterfalls. The cascading Solong Falls in San Miguel is just one of them.
MTBike - explore more

Bike and pump your lungs with fresh air!

The roads in Catanduanes are generally of the gravel type. The hilly and flatlands combination of the islands geography is very irresistible for a MTBike cross-country rider like me. Great varied scenery and yes, the seabreeze seems to keep me at a faster pace eager to see what's next around that bend.

I agree with you. We all need fresh air. Calcutta is highly polluted city and very crowded with vehicles and pollution. I wish someday we think like you people.

How lucky you are for work to take you to these places then allow you to go biking there. The waterfalls are just simply gorgous! Yes biking with such scenery must be fabulous. Great page thanks!
