Honeymooners in Baytown

by vikes_rule84 - last update: Nov 3, 2005

The Trip Out

We set out for our trip from Sioux Falls South Dakota only to have our car break down 8 hours into our trip. After one long night in a shabby motel, wondering if we were spending our honeymoon in Kearney Nebraska, and one darn friendly service guy at Killion Motors we were on our way the next morning and made it to California in 3 days.

We stopped at Reno and Lake Tahoe on the way out. Went to a Blues and Brews festival in Reno that was awesome. Sampled some of the finest brews from all over west of the Rockies.

Carmel by the Sea

As a surprise for my wife we went to Carmel CA for a day, it was a very neat town full of shops and right on the ocean. And as a bonus Seventeen Mile Drive gave us the best views of the ocean we would have our entire trip and access to some of the most prestigous golf courses in the world.

San Francisco

Finally making it to our destination was a relief, we spent three relaxing days in Baytown. Checked out the major sites: The Wharf, Alcatrez, Golden Gate as well as taking a wine tour. The wine tour was probably the highlight of the trip.
