Santorini was the destination for the third European meeting - what a fantastic excuse to visit such a beautiful place. Santorini is well known for its white washed houses and churches perched on the clifftops. I perused many, many pictures of the island before I went, I have to say that seeing the stunning views from the main town Fira took my breath away.

Fira is the main town for shopping, eating, drinking & meeting up with VT ers. The majority of the participants for Euromeet stayed in hotels in or around Fira. Fira is abound with whitewashed churches, villas & restaurants built on the edge of the Caldera offering magnificent views of the island accross to the village of Thirasia. The sunsets from the restaurants & bars are out of this world.

Running the length of Fira is a network of cobbled paths and steps, you can go down the 600 plus steps to the old port or you can take the cable car or even a donkey if you're brave enough!

Shopping in Fira is a favourite pass-time of all the cruise ship passengers who arrive daily in their droves. There are plenty of shops in the narrow streets leading from the steps at the top of the port. Shopaholics eat your heart out, you can buy Jewellery, China, Arts & Crafts, Lace, Gifts, Soaps, bags, shoes, you name it - it can be bought here!!

The Sunsets from Fira & Oia are amazing, there are many restaurants & bars with fabulous views of the spectacular sunsets which form the main attraction each evening.
