Edinburgh VT Meeting - what a scorcher!!

by Myfanwe - last update: Sep 17, 2006

A Big Thank You to Sue (Suet) & David

Our crazy hostess!!
What a wonderful time we all had at the Edinburgh meet, held as Sue & David's home in Rosslyn. The weather was fantastic, the scenery splendid & the hosts were just fabulous - did they know what they were letting themselves in for???
Be careful you don't fall in Sue....

The Venue

What a charming cottage set on the verge of the Roslin Country Park, the wildlife, trees & plants were really beautiful. A regular visitor to the garden just after dark was the new addition to the Taylor household - freddie the fox, the sly little thing caught me without my camera on two occasions - I have never seen a wild fox up that close before & was gutted not to be able to picture it :-(
He da man!!

The Chefs

Well I certainly learnt a thing or two about cooking after spending a few days with sue.
1. There is not a cooking gadget that Sue does not posess.
2. Waste not want not, if you can't make soup out of it give it to the poodles, if the poodles don't want it, it goes in the fox!
3. The Dishwasher is God!!

The star of the weekend had to be Ricky 'Stein' 52 with his fabulous recipes to tantalise our tastebuds. With Sheila as his right hand woman & me keeping a close eye on the proceedings while attempting to jot down a few notes, Ricky did his stuff perfectly, providing the Edinburgh VT last supper. We had yummy Thai fishcakes with dipping sauce, King Prawns in Garlic, Prawns toasted in coconut & Garlic & tomato mushrooms - delicious!

Pros:"The weather was unseasonably warm."
Cons:"brown patches on the lawn...... ;-)"
